Bar blender, 1.25 L
The „Santos“ #33 Evolution is a compact commercial blender for cocktails, smoothies, milkshakes, fruit juices and frozen drinks with crushed ice. It has a 1.25 L jug and a 600 W motor.
The blender is designed for bars, cafés, hotels, restaurants, canteens, cocktail and juice bars, cake shops and ice cream parlours, and blends hot as well as cold ingredients. Besides drinks, the manufacturer's manual lists small batches of soup, sauces, vegetable or fruit purées, creams and pâtés.
The #33 Evolution has jug detection: the motor will not start without the jug in place and stops when the jug is lifted off. This helps protect the drive coupling, which links the motor to the blades and wears faster if the jug is lifted off or fitted while the motor is running. In the „Santos“ range the #33 is intended for occasional use; for intensive use the manufacturer offers brushless blenders.
Jug, lid and blades
The clear plastic jug has volume markings and a handle; it fits straight onto the motor base and lifts off just as quickly. The lid has a removable filler cap, so you can add ingredients while the blender is running.
Strong stainless steel blades are mounted in a reinforced aluminium blade assembly. Materials in contact with food comply with Regulations (EC) No 1935/2004 and (EU) No 10/2011, and the manufacturer states that they are bisphenol-free.
The motor base is cast aluminium, painted green (33E) or grey (33GE), or chrome-plated (33CE) — choose yours in the ‘Colour’ field.
Using the blender
A three-position switch (LOW – OFF – HIGH) selects low or high speed; the top speed is 16,000 rpm.
Always use the blender with liquid. Pour in liquid or purée until the blades are fully covered before adding solid ingredients — ideally diced and dropped in through the filler-cap opening while the blades are turning. Never run the blender empty, and do not put dry ingredients in the jug before switching on.
The blender handles drinks made with crushed ice, but must not be used to crush large ice cubes or frozen food — the blades are not designed for that.
Do not remove the lid until the motor has stopped completely. Lift the jug off the motor base, or fit it back on, only when the motor is at a standstill — otherwise the drive coupling wears faster.
Duty cycle and safety
The blender is designed for intermittent use: 1 minute on, 1 minute off (EN 60335-2-64) — roughly a minute to blend a drink and a minute to pour and serve it. The blender is not intended for continuous high-volume production.
The motor has a built-in thermal cut-out and stops if it overheats. Turn the switch to OFF, unplug the blender and let the motor cool for 20–45 minutes. If hard pieces jam the blades, switch the blender off and unplug it, lift the jug off the motor base, remove the lid and free the blades with a long, thin utensil. If the blades jam again, empty the jug and cut the food into smaller pieces.
The switch is waterproof, all mechanical parts are earthed and every blender is tested at the factory after assembly. The noise level is 73 dB(A) at 1 m.
Cleaning and care
Switch the blender off and unplug it before cleaning. It is easiest to clean straight after use, before food dries on the jug, lid and blades.
The jug can go in the dishwasher fully assembled, but for better hygiene the manufacturer recommends taking it apart and washing the parts separately: unscrew the jug from the jug nut, take out the blade assembly and the seal, then wash every part — jug, jug nut, blade assembly, seal, lid and filler cap — in the dishwasher or in hot soapy water. Handle the blades with care. Wipe the motor base with a soft damp sponge and dry it; never immerse it in water or clean it with a water jet or pressure washer.
When the blender is not in use, keep the blade assembly fitted in the jug and secured with the jug nut to reduce the risk of cuts, and do not fit the lid airtight. The bearings are lubricated for life, so no routine maintenance is needed. Wear parts such as the blades and the drive coupling can be replaced — the manual shows how to change the coupling.
Spare parts are ordered by the manufacturer's part numbers: complete jug with lid and blades — 33100, blade assembly — 33107. Part numbers for everything else are in the spare parts diagram on the ‘Technical Data Sheet’ tab. When ordering, give the model, serial number and electrical data from the rating plate on the underside of the blender.
Dimensions and electrical connection
The blender is compact — 180 mm wide, 180 mm deep and 420 mm high — and weighs 3 kg. Place it on a bar counter or worktop sloping no more than 10°, with the switch facing you; the manufacturer recommends a working height of about 90 cm. Do not use it outdoors or place it on or near a source of heat.
The 600 W blender connects to a single-phase 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz supply. It comes with a fitted power cord and plug, so no hard-wiring is needed: an earthed socket on a circuit protected by a residual current device (RCD) and a 16 A fuse is enough. Do not plug other appliances into the same socket.
