„Brema Ice“ Bin 240 PE — 180 kg polyethylene ice storage bin

The „Brema Ice“ Bin 240 PE is an ice storage bin for modular ice makers: the ice maker sits on top and the ice drops straight into the bin. It holds up to 180 kg of ice (the 240 in the name is not the capacity). The bin body is moulded from polyethylene suitable for contact with food, and good insulation keeps the ice from melting for a long time.

We sell the version of this bin for the „Brema Ice“ C 150 HC ice maker (Brema code BIN240PE*C150). For other Brema modular ice makers — VM 350, VM 500/900, G 160/280/510 and TM 450 — Brema supplies separate versions of this bin, which we can offer on request.

The Bin 200 has a stainless steel frame, holds more (200 kg) and is 72 mm narrower and 53 mm lower, but costs more. We can offer the Bin 350 (350 kg, 1 250 × 815 × 1 000 mm) on request.

Installation and care

  • Stand the bin on a level floor; once the ice maker is on top, level the unit with a spirit level by adjusting the feet (100–160 mm).
  • A qualified technician fits the ice maker’s thermostat probe into the bin’s probe holder, so that the ice maker stops when the bin is full.
  • Meltwater leaves through the bin’s drain hole, so the bin needs a drain, just like the ice maker. Do not use the bin to chill or store food or drinks: they can block the drain, and the bin then fills with water and overflows (C 150 HC manual).
  • With the C 150 HC and the feet, the whole unit is 1 873–1 933 mm high (our calculation from Brema’s dimensions).
  • The bin is cleaned and sanitised together with the ice maker at least once a month: washed with the vinegar solution and washing-up liquid, sanitised with a 200 mg/l sodium hypochlorite solution and rinsed thoroughly with cold water — a job for qualified staff (C 150 HC manual).
