Water filter cartridge „Everpure“ 4FC-S (EV9692-31)

„Everpure“ 4FC-S — 56,781 L capacity and filtration down to 0.2 µm

A „Pentair“ replacement cartridge for ice machines, steamers, combi ovens and coffee machines, with a service flow rate of up to 9.5 L/min.

The „Everpure“ 4FC-S (part number EV9692-31) traps dirt and cysts such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia and reduces chlorine taste and odour, while its beaded phosphate inhibits scale build-up in your equipment. „Pentair“ Fibredyne™ II media inhibits bacterial growth on the media itself, so the cartridge lasts its full service life.

The cartridge also protects equipment seals, pumps and tubing, so they last longer, keeps small orifices clear and helps drinks taste clean.

The 0.2 µm rating was confirmed by an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory to ASTM F838-05, the method used to validate 0.2 µm sterilising-grade filters: the cartridge achieved a 99.999% reduction of Pseudomonas diminuta bacteria. The cartridge is certified to NSF/ANSI 42 for nominal particulate reduction, Class I (0.5–1 µm), and to NSF/ANSI 53 for cyst reduction.

Filtered water for ice machines

Ice is simply frozen water, so ice made from water filtered by the 4FC-S is free of chlorine taste and odour, and drinks taste the way they should. Clean water also helps the ice machine itself:

• fewer mineral deposits build up on the evaporator and freezing cylinder, so the machine keeps its output and uses energy efficiently;
• clean valves work smoothly, cubes stay separate and bearings in flake ice machines last longer;
• a clean inlet valve lets in just the water needed, and ice production runs steadily.

„Pentair“ test data confirm the scale inhibition, while the water hardness stays the same.

Sizing by ice machine output

A single 4FC-S cartridge (QC7I 4FC-S system, EV9202-81) suits ice machines with the following daily output:

Compatible filter heads

The cartridge fits „Everpure“ Insurice PF, QC7I, QL2, QL3 and QL3B heads; the „Everpure“ QL3 head is ordered separately. The head stays plumbed in: to change the filter, you simply swap the cartridge — quickly and hygienically, as the internal filter parts stay sealed and clean.

Connection and installation

• The cartridge is mounted vertically, hanging down, with at least 6.4 cm (2½″) of clearance below it for easy replacement.
• Connects to the cold water supply: 2–38 °C, 0.7–8.6 bar. Above 5.9 bar a pressure-reducing valve is recommended, and pipework with water hammer needs a water hammer arrestor upstream of the filter.
• Supply line: 3/8″ or larger; threads are sealed with PTFE tape.
• Site: easy to reach and close to a drain for the flushing water.

Changing the cartridge

Change the cartridge every 6 months as part of scheduled maintenance, and in any case at least once a year; change it sooner if the rated capacity of 56,781 L is reached, the flow drops or the outlet pressure falls below 0.7 bar.

1. Switch off the equipment supplied by the filter and close the system inlet valve. If there is a flush valve, open it to relieve the pressure.
2. Holding the head firmly, push the cartridge up, turn it a quarter turn to the left until it stops, and pull it down.
3. Line up the lug on the new cartridge with the mark on the head label, push the cartridge firmly up into the head and turn it a quarter turn to the right until it stops.
4. Open the inlet valve and flush the system for 5 minutes to purge air and rinse the media, then close the flush valve (if fitted) and check that the connections are tight.

The cartridge is designed for microbiologically safe water.
