„Brema Ice“ Kit Cleaner for „Brema“ cube ice makers

Kit Cleaner is Brema Group’s cleaning product for routine ice maker maintenance: 24 single-dose 55 g sachets of powder, labelled „Ice Machine Cleaner“. According to Brema, the cleaner is odourless and colourless, removes limescale residue and impurities, and helps keep the production cycle efficient, extend the machine’s working life and prevent faults caused by inadequate internal cleaning.

One sachet is dissolved in 2.5 l of water. The solution can be used in the automatic washing (AWS) cycle or applied to the machine’s removable parts with a sponge.

Compatible machines

Brema states that the cleaner is compatible with its CB („Ice Cube“) and „B-Qube“ ice makers — that is, every „Brema Ice“ CB model we sell, from the CB 184 HC to the CB 1565 HC. Brema does not list it for the GB (ice flakes) or TB (ice pebbles) series.

How many sachets you need

According to the label, the number of sachets depends on how much ice the machine makes a day:

The label’s bands have gaps, and three of the CB models we sell fall into them: the CB 249 HC (29 kg a day), CB 425 HC (48 kg) and CB 955 HC (95 kg). Ask us how many sachets these models need. If you clean once a month (the minimum in the CB manual), a box lasts 24, 12, 8 or 6 months respectively (our calculation).

How to use

1. Dissolve each 55 g sachet in 2.5 l of water.
2. If the machine has automatic washing (AWS), pour the solution into its water tray and press the ‘W’ button: the machine defrosts the evaporator, circulates the solution for 30 minutes, rinses with fresh water for 60 minutes and goes back to making ice. Removable parts, the inside of the bin and the door can be cleaned with the same solution and a sponge.
3. Rinse the cleaned parts and surfaces thoroughly with clean water.
4. Then sanitise the machine: the CB manual follows cleaning with a 200 mg/l sodium hypochlorite solution, which is not included in the kit.
5. The label says to discard the ice made in the first 40 minutes after cleaning; the CB manual is stricter: after cleaning and sanitising, discard the ice from the first five cycles and any ice already in the bin.

The CB manual specifies cleaning at least once a month, more often if the water is hard, and reserves this work for qualified staff.

Safe use

Warning: causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation (H315, H319); harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects (H412). Wear nitrile gloves and safety glasses, and wash your hands thoroughly after use. Do not release into the environment. For professional use only.

The cleaner contains sulfamic and citric acids. As with any acid descaler, do not mix it with chlorine-based products: rinse the machine thoroughly with clean water before you sanitise it with sodium hypochlorite. Store in a well-ventilated room, away from food, drink and animal feed.
