„Asachimici“ is an Italian company based in Vescovato (province of Cremona) that makes cleaners and descalers for espresso machines, milk systems and coffee grinders under the „Puly Caff“ brand; it created its first „Puly Caff®“ cleaner in 1961. Its quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (certificates valid until December 2026). Only some of its cleaners are certified by NSF International under Protocol P152; where this is the case, the product description says so.

„Puly Cleaner®“ Powder — descaler in single-use sachets
Citric acid descaler for espresso machines and electric kettles. 10 sachets of 25 g.
„Puly Cleaner®“ Powder is a descaling powder made in Italy by „Asachimici“; on the manufacturer’s website it is listed as „Puly Cleaner Descaler® Cristalli“. Each 25 g sachet is one descaling dose. The powder quickly dissolves limescale, and regular use stops scale from blocking the equipment.
The main active ingredient is citric acid (90–100 %), with less than 5 % sulphamic acid. It is a white, odourless crystalline powder that dissolves readily in water.
Applications
- Espresso machines with a water tank.
- Filter coffee machines.
- Electric kettles.
Directions for use
Dosage. Dissolve the contents of one sachet (25 g) in 1 litre of water.
Espresso machine:
- Pour the solution into the machine’s water tank.
- Run water through the machine, switching it on and off every 30 seconds, until the tank is empty.
- Rinse the tank thoroughly, fill it with clean drinking water and again run water through, switching on and off every 30 seconds, until the tank is empty.
Dissolve
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a litre of water.
Run water
Pour it into the tank and run water through, switching on and off every 30 s, until the tank is empty.
Rinse the tank
Rinse the tank with drinking water.
Flush
Fill with drinking water and again run it through, switching on and off every 30 s, until the tank is empty.
Electric kettle. Pour in the solution and switch the kettle on. Once it has heated up, switch it off, pour away the solution and rinse the kettle thoroughly.
Dissolve
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a litre of water.
Heat
Pour the solution into the kettle and switch it on.
Empty
Once hot, switch the kettle off and pour the solution away.
Rinse
Rinse the kettle with drinking water.
„Asachimici“ recommends descaling according to water hardness, but at least every 30 days. If the espresso machine’s instructions specify a different descaling procedure, follow those.
Warning: causes serious eye irritation (H319); may cause respiratory irritation (H335). Avoid breathing dust. Wear protective gloves and eye protection. If in eyes: rinse cautiously with water for several minutes; remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do, and continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists, get medical advice. Keep out of reach of children. Not suitable for aluminium. Store in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place at no more than 30 °C, out of direct sunlight and away from alkaline products and oxidising agents; keep the pack tightly closed after opening.
